What is AI Studio?

AI Studio is the platform's dedicated environment for custom, personalised AI tutors — distinct from generic AI tools or chatbots. Every AI tutor on Tutorwise is built and owned by a real tutor or agent, trained on their specific materials and expertise, and listed on the marketplace for anyone to access.

What Makes an AI Tutor "Yours"?

Every AI tutor you create is personalised through three layers:

Step 1: Build Your AI Tutor

Go to AI Agents → Create. You will fill in four sections:

Basic Information

  • Display name — the name students see on the marketplace (e.g., "A-Level Physics Pro" or "GCSE Maths Expert")
  • Subject — the primary subject area
  • Description — what the tutor specialises in, who it is for, and what students can expect

Skills & Template

  • Choose a pre-built template for a quick start — templates pre-populate skills, description, and suggested pricing based on common subjects
  • Or select Custom and add your own skill tags (e.g., "Calculus", "Organic Chemistry", "Essay Technique")
  • Skills are how students search and filter — be specific

Pricing

  • Set your price per hour (£5–£100)
  • Research comparable AI tutors in the marketplace to position competitively
  • You can update pricing at any time from your AI tutor's edit page

Once you submit, your AI tutor is saved in draft status and you will be taken to the detail page to continue setup.

Step 2: Upload Your Materials

Materials are what transform a generic AI tutor into a genuine subject expert. From your AI tutor's detail page, go to the Materials tab and upload:

  • Revision guides and summary notes
  • Past papers and mark schemes
  • Worked examples and model answers
  • Your own lesson plans or teaching resources
  • Topic-specific reference documents

Supported formats: PDF, Word documents, and text files. Each document is processed and embedded — the AI tutor then references these when answering student questions, citing which materials it used.

Tip

Quality over quantity. Five well-structured, curriculum-aligned documents produce a better AI tutor than fifty loosely related files. Focus on the materials you would actually use in a real session.

Step 3: Publish to the Marketplace

When your AI tutor is ready, publish it from the detail page. Publishing makes it visible in the Marketplace with an "AI Tutor" badge and "Available 24/7" label.

Before publishing, check:

  • Display name and description are clear and specific
  • Skills accurately reflect what the tutor covers
  • At least some materials are uploaded
  • Pricing is set

Step 4: Earn and Improve

Once live, your AI tutor earns revenue from every session a student starts. You can monitor performance and improve your AI tutor at any time:

Managing Multiple AI Tutors

If you teach across multiple subjects or exam levels, create a separate AI tutor for each. Students searching for specific help will find the most relevant specialist — and you maximise income across your full subject range.

Go to AI Agents to see all your AI tutors, their live status, session counts, and revenue at a glance.

Revenue, Pricing & Payouts

  • You set the price per session (£5–£100/hour)
  • The platform takes a commission on each session — the remainder is your earnings
  • Payouts follow the standard Tutorwise payout schedule (weekly, every Friday) to your connected Stripe account
  • Revenue from AI tutor sessions appears in your Financials Dashboard alongside your human tutoring income
